Organize and coordinate the servicing of new and renewal accounts according to Company guidelines and instructions from assigned Underwriter. Provide high quality professional service to Companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.1. Enter New Submissions in the clearance system and handle according to established procedures.2. Prepare and model new and renewal business as directed and supervised by an Underwriter.3. Review policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc., resolve any discrepancies and make changes, as needed.4.
Review and process policy servicing requests (endorsement, audits, Company requests, Certificates, Premium Finance Notices and Cancellations, etc.).5. Invoice and process new business and renewal binders, premium bearing endorsements, and cancellations according to internal and Company guidelines.6. Produce cancellation and non-renewal notices according to statutory and contractual requirements under the direction of assigned Underwriter.7. Manage underwriting files on accounts in which policies are not issued and handle according to Company and internal established procedures.8. Maintain pending/suspense system per established procedures.9. Maintain account files in accordance with company policy.10. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies/certificates3. Strong knowledge of underwriting processes, including classification principles, rating, contract administration, proposal/new business/renewal issuance and property valuations4.
Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating5. Ability to use company automation systems6. Ability to develop, foster and maintain an excellent working relationship with clients7. Ability to work in a team environment8. Ability to maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry9. Good written and verbal skills10. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products11. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Insurance experience2. State-specific insurance license3. Ability to work extended hours, when necessary
