THE OPPORTUNITY:The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Inbound Processing Technician plays a crucial role in managing the initial stages of IT asset management for client organizations. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently with various ITAM processes and software systems.This is a full-time position M-F 8am-5pm.THE DAY TO DAY:Job Pickup Management
- Receive job pickups from ITAM clients
- Check and verify Transfer Order (TO) accuracy
- Document any discrepancies and communicate with clients
Asset Sorting and Processing
- Sort incoming assets according to client-specific guidelines
- Process ITAM inbound jobs following disposal, redeployment, and repair guides
- Identify and segregate assets based on their intended disposition
Asset Record Management
- Update client asset records within the client's ITAM software platform
- Classify assets based on substate categories (e.g. disposal, redeploy, repair)
- Ensure accuracy of asset information in the system
Asset Processing Facilitation
- Initiate and coordinate proper processing path for client assets
- Route assets to appropriate teams or departments based on their classification
- Monitor and track the progress of assets through various stages of processing
- Create ER2 disposal jobs within the ER2 Portal for client's DECOM assets
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of DECOM items within the client’s ITAM software platform
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the ITAM Inventory team to ensure proper storage and tracking of assets
- Collaborate with the ITAM Configuration team to support redeployable asset processing
- Communicate effectively with other departments to streamline asset flow
Process Adherence and Improvement
- Follow established ITAM processes and procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
- Participate in the implementation of new procedures or technologies
Reporting and Documentation
- Generate reports on inbound processing activities
- Maintain accurate records of all processed assets
- Document any issues or exceptions encountered during processing
Client Support
- Support client inquiries related to inbound asset processing
- Provide updates on clients regarding the status of their assets when required
- Support client concerns or special requests to appropriate team members
Compliance and Security
- Ensure adherence to data security protocols when handling client assets
- Comply with relevant regulations and standards for IT asset management
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and asset data
THE VITALS:
- Experience in using ITAM software and database systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of IT hardware and software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to stand in one place for extended periods of time without fatiguing.
- Ability to work and look at a computer screen for extended hours per day.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for consecutive hours.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- The ability to pass a drug test/background screen with no prior convictions of theft related felonies in the last 7 years.
- The ability to speak/read English fluently.
