14 West, part of The Agora, an international consortium of media companies with offices located in the historic Mount Vernon district of Baltimore, is looking for an Accounting Manager to join its team. This individual will help support all of the centralized groups within The Agora with their accounting, reporting, and analytical needs.
Job Responsibilities

We need an Accounting Manager with full general ledger experience who will be responsible for the following, in addition to other projects that may arise:
- Prepare and analyze financial results and explain all material variances to ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP.
- Responsible for the month end closing process, including variance analysis and meeting with senior management.
- Responsible for general accounting, month-end close and financial reporting, as well as for providing support to senior management, publishers, and external auditors.
- Oversee a small team of direct reports include individuals in positions including Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable.
- Opportunities to liaise with several affiliates within the Agora Companies
Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree in accounting, finance or related field of study. MBA is a plus, but not required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and prior management experience.
- Experience with financial instruments and related transactions (leasing, derivatives, etc.), and Financial Reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Accounting and reporting systems including NetSuite and Concur.
