About The Role (What you will get to do)
Our Climate Solutions Directors are the climate subject matter experts at Persefoni with specific expertise working with various types of clients on their carbon and climate measurement and management.In this role you will work alongside our Climate Solutions team, go-to-market industry leaders, consulting partners, sales and account directors, technical solution directors, customer success teams, and product teams while directly interfacing with our customers. . You’ll excel at identifying and understanding customer specific needs, scoping Persefoni solutions to connect customer priorities with technical solutions, the customer deployment journey, and closely partnering for future solution expansion with customers.
Further, you’ll constantly be identifying trends in the market and providing guidance to our product and engineering teams to incorporate in the product roadmap.
Responsibilities (What we expect)
- Develop value creation & solution-based problem solving with prospective/current customers.
- Maintain key customer & market relationships.
- Provide expertise and knowledge sharing in the frameworks of PCAF and GHGP.
- Optimize customer deployments & success programs.
- Interface with third party auditors and assurance providers on an as-needs basis.
- Collaborate with Product & Engineering to identify industry trends and emerging customer requirements.
- Support industry partnerships, ecosystems & alliances.
- Become a Persefoni product evangelist and deliver effective Demonstrations of the Persefoni platform.
- Lead end-to-end onboarding process for new customers, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, to coordinate efforts and deliver exceptional client experience.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for clients, imparting product knowledge, best practices, and actionable insights to maximize value.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations in the APAC region.
Carbon Accounting:
- Be the primary subject matter expert for all things related to carbon accounting and GHG inventory strategy.
- Advise organizations on which GHGP categories are material to their business and guide them through the various carbon accounting calculation methodologies that are applicable.
- Help organizations create specific strategies to continually identify applicable data sources, connect data to Persefoni, and understand the calculated outcomes in the platform.
- Be the primary interface with any of our customers audit & assurance providers to explain and verify Persefoni’s use and applicable of GHG accounting standards and PCAF standard.
Technical Leadership:
- Be the Persefoni solutions expert to include demonstrating platform functionality, explaining carbon accounting and sustainability reporting frameworks, constantly evaluating product functionality for market fit, and advising the customer journey of end-to-end carbon and climate management strategies.
- Bring value creation and solution-based problem solving into customer discussions to identify priorities, validate Persefoni as a proposed solution, and close deals
- Be the technical expert across topics such as, but not limited to, Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) accounting.
- Share insights on sustainability reporting frameworks, alliances and initiatives, such as, but not limited to CSRD, TCFD, ISSB, SASB
Business Leadership:
- Model the Persefoni Operating Principles in every process of the role
- Foster a growth mindset, continually learning and expanding your understanding of our company’s vision, our customer’s needs, and the ever-evolving market landscape
- Drive revenue growth and customer retention through activities such as leading customer meetings, scoping technical solutions, and managing platform onboarding.
- Collaborate with various internal and external teams such as consulting partners, sales, product management, engineering, and customer success to deliver a unified customer experience.
Qualifications (What you bring to the role)
- At least 4 years of sustainability solutions experience in a customer facing consulting or sustainability leadership role; education considered in addition to experience
- Requires sustainability consulting, in-house sustainability management and/or experience in a Financial Services environment.
- Relevant work experience within a financial institution (Bank, PE, Asset Management, etc.) or industry service provider is highly valued
- Experience applying recognized ESG/sustainability frameworks and standards (PCAF, GHGP, TCFD or similar) in a Financial Services environment
- Four-year degree from an accredited institution - MSc, or additional designations (CPA, CFA, etc.) a plus
- Certifications from standard setters like WRI, ISO, GHGP, SBTi, TCFD, VRF, etc.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to present and explain technical information to various customer stakeholders – To include PCAF, GHGP, carbon accounting, sustainability disclosure and software as a service
- Prior experience creating GHG inventories and working knowledge of creating specific GHG disclosures, including financed emissions
- Prior experience with audit and assurance engagements is highly valued
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and decision-making skills
