This position requires you to work a Hybrid schedule, in the Murrieta, CA office 3 days a week. 


Job Summary


As Sr. Accountant, you will assist the Director of Accounting with the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Month-end Close responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciling workpapers, variance analysis research, and Ad Hoc projects
  • Manage and update daily cash activity
  • Manage Fixed Assets, entries, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts providing analysis and recommendations when necessary
  • Reconciliation between vendor charges and customer or account validation, working with department leaders, as necessary
  • Sales and Use Tax Subject Matter Expert
  • Ensure proper filing and reporting of sales and use tax as scheduled; reconcile and maintain data integrity between Avalara and Sage
  • Assist with various tax related reporting and notifications
  • Assist with state registrations and annual reports through CT Advantage
  • Provide support and document preparation for external audit(s)
  • Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) with audits and troubleshooting 
  • Assist with process improvement in day-to-day operations and department workflow optimization
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting
  • Advanced Excel user, required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Ability to switch from complex to routine tasks when required
  • Experience using Sage Intacct, Salesforce, in a corporate environment, preferred
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) experience, preferred

Physical/Mental Requirements for the Job:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends if deemed necessary
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds
  • Certain management positions might be required to occasional travel 85000.00 To 100000.00 (USD) Annually
