Position Summary
This position will oversee all aspects of Bluum’s Phoenix warehouse. The role will oversee the general operations of the warehouse and its staff including oversight of inventory control, product receipt, outbound shipping, and facility maintenance. This position will ensure that the product is prepared for shipping via parcel and LTL shipments, as well as, oversee the responsibility and management of local third-party logistics companies (3PLs).
Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
- Inventory management to ensure all materials are properly inventoried and accounted for.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and accordingly
- Maintain warehouse layout and organization
- Evaluate and determine best method to ship goods – UPS, Fed Ex, Courier, LTL etc.
- Carry out correspondence with couriers, including shipment set-ups, delivery instructions and estimated delivery expectations
- Arrange best route of product shipments to ensure accuracy, cost effectiveness and timely delivery. Process must be carried out in accordance with generally accepted procedures.
- Responsibility of managing our 3PLs in Phoenix
- Pulling customer orders for integration team the day before installation.
- Prepare and bundle customer orders for shipping.
- Facilitate daily freight activities including contacting freight carriers to pick up shipments.
- Deliver or pick-up local product utilizing company vehicles as needed.
- Receive, identify, mark and place incoming shipments according to established procedures.
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and software, including a forklift, pallet jack and NetSuite
- Communicating professionally with various company personnel, departments, and vendors to provide information and resolve issues.
- Organizing all products warehoused
- Preparing for and participate in semi-annual inventory counts.
Warehouse Management
- Mentor and train warehouse personnel
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse and shipping/receiving dock operations
- Oversee the receipt of inventory into NetSuite
- Review and approve shipping invoices
- Resolve escalated problems from all warehouse staff pertaining to shipping errors, lost shipments, internal picking errors
- Review and approve timesheets and PTO requests of Warehouse staff
- Participate in the hiring process of warehouse staff as part of the interviewing and assessing of candidates
- Serve as the primary backup for department personnel
- Maintain departmental coverage
- Maintain shipping supply inventory
- Work with General Manager/Leadership to develop Warehouse Budget
- Adhere and coach staff to ensure all safety and security guidelines are met applicable to the dock and warehouse
Other
- Additional responsibilities will include site services and building maintenance. Assist with repairs of facilities lighting, breakroom, kitchen and restrooms and other building needs as they arise and at the discretion of management.
- Other duties may be assigned or required in order to support teammates when needed.
Education & Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of warehouse experience
- Prior management experience of a warehouse, preferred.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 50lbs.
- Ability to perform basic math equations and complete paperwork accurately.
- Experience working in a labor intensive, structured environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must have a valid driver license and a good driving history.
- Operate a computer to process reports and forms.
- Possess forklift certification or be able to attain forklift certification through the company once employed.
- Travel requirements: On-site visits required as needed, typically within reasonable driving distance. Some trainings require more extensive travel but infrequent.
