We are actively seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Host SW), based in CH, UK, DEResponsibilities:
- Lead the development of Host support software on Kandou’s silicon projects
- Ensure code quality via implementation and running of software test suites
- Migration, consolidation and development of existing silicon debug software tools
- Software design and support for our silicon design infrastructure
Essential Experience:
- Defining and building Custom Linux distributions, e.g. with OpenEmbedded and Yocto
- Linux host SW development: Kernel and Userspace driver architecture, design and implementation
- Knowledge of Baseboard Management Controller systems; OpenBMC, OpenBIC
- Interfacing to hardware and peripherals: SPI, I2C/SMBus, JTAG
- Knowledge of communication protocols including mctp
- Debugging at application, driver and hardware levels
- Exposure to high-speed signalling technologies; PCIe, CXL
- Use of modern SW development and test workflows (CI/gitlab/makefile/CMake/TDD etc.)
- Good documentation, presentation and mentoring skills
- Strong motivation for learning new skills and knowledge areas
Useful Experience:
- Memory and network interfacing, virtual memory, simulation and co-simulation
- Use of simulation and/or FPGAs for pre-silicon development
- Firmware Update approaches and algorithms
- Command-line scripting with bash/sh, object-oriented Python etc.
- Understanding of SerDes technology
- Appreciation of Cryptographic algorithms and disciplines
