We are actively seeking a Digital Design Manager, based in UK – Reading, Switzerland - Lausanne or Germany - Dortmund. Key responsibilities
- Manage a diverse, multi-site digital design team – responsibility for hiring, resourcing, scheduling, upskilling, mentoring, performance reviews, reporting and engineering execution
- Continuous improvement of design methodologies to meet ever increasing demand of quality and efficiency
- Work closely with analogue design, physical design and verification teams to identify design gaps, design flows and implement improvement actions, i.e. ensure delivery of high-quality designs
- Be the technical authority during sign-off meetings
- Be the voice of the digital design team. Manage workload and schedules, report to internal management team and external customers
Skills
- Strong analytical skills to translate system-level requirements into design and planning
- Good understanding of best practices related to source code management systems, bug ticket management systems and project development flows
- Strong RTL coding experience (SystemVerilog preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of high-speed and low-power design techniques
- Scripting (Python preferred) and tool setup skills
- Understanding of verification methodologies, in particular UVM, is highly desirable
- Understanding of Physical Design flows/challenges in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies is highly desirable
- Self-motivated, with strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Must possess strong written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable team building and leadership skills
Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry, with min. 3yrs in a digital design leadership role
- Strong technical background in design of digital circuits in deep-submicron CMOS technologies
- Experience of multi-gigabit SerDes designs is highly desirable
- Familiarity with high-speed serial protocols such as PCIe, CXL, USB etc. is highly desirable
- Exposure to mixed analog/digital circuits design
- Experience in low power designs and power-islands flows (i.e. UPF, CPF) is a plus
- Knowledge of Product Development Life Cycle and representing the digital design discipline at project gate exits and final sign-off, inc. tape-out
- Skilled in managing a technical team in delivering quality designs to schedule
- Experience in leading and working with teams across different geographical sites
