Job Summary:
As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to drive strategic decisions. You will play a key role in establishing and maintaining accounting processes, managing financial reporting, and supporting the financial planning and analysis functions. This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing accounting team as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the accounting function.
- Assist with ad hoc requests and projects, such as system automation, process improvements and researching accounting topics.
- Perform SOX internal controls over assigned areas.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as operations, sales, and Engineering, to support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- CPA Certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Big 4 or professional services firm
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
