Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team at Heard Technologies Inc. In this pivotal role, you will be integral to transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic decisions and drive business performance. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance and Data, you will be responsible for creating metrics to validate performance, crafting compelling data visualizations, and communicating findings across the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence our growth strategy and product roadmap while building out the data function from the ground up.Heard Technologies Inc.
is a small, agile team with an exciting trajectory, and this position represents our first full-time dedicated data role. You will have the chance to establish our data infrastructure, develop KPIs, and foster a data-driven culture. We need someone comfortable with ambiguity, eager to tackle the challenges of a fast-paced startup, and capable of shaping our data initiatives and company strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop KPIs and Dashboards: Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor progress against OKRs, ensuring team accountability and facilitating data-driven decision-making
- Find Opportunity and Predict Performance: Evaluate leading indicators of critical company metrics, such as retention and growth, to predict and enhance overall company performance
- Create Data Tools and Reports: Develop and manage data tools and dashboards in Looker, Excel, and other platforms to support decision-making and process improvements
- Drive Data Analysis and Modeling: Collaborate cross-functionally to apply data analyses, models, and statistical techniques to uncover trends, measure performance, and identify opportunities
- Oversee Data Infrastructure: Manage data infrastructure, including ingestion, transformation, quality checks, and manipulation, to ensure accurate and actionable insights are delivered from source to stakeholder
- Design and Maintain Data Pipelines: Build and maintain complex data pipelines and dashboards using business intelligence tools to present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong background in data analysis and business acumen
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of how metrics impact broader business objectives
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize business questions, translate them into actionable insights and tools, and focus on high impact over perfection
- Experience in a fast-paced environment is essential. Prior experience in a startup is a plus
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Looker (or similar BI tools like Tableau). Development experience in LookML and dbt are strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of statistical methods such as significance testing. Experience with data science languages like R and Python, including techniques like multivariate regressions and clustering, is a bonus
