About the Role
Leadership Connect is a growing company that is rapidly changing to meet the demands of our clients while leveraging our strong brand in the market. Given our growth and expansion, we need a Business Development Representative to support our new business efforts. This is a hybrid role, based in DC, working alongside our Business Development Operations Manager whose focus is on winning new business. We have a fast-paced, progressive environment with a clear sales development process where you’ll be exposed to all elements of selling our software.
You’ll be the tip of the spear in helping us connect with industry leaders. Our culture is collaborative, ideas are valued and welcomed, and team members with initiative are rewarded.
Core Functions of the Role:
- Establishing, developing, and growing new business relationships with influential contacts within target accounts.
- High-volume strategic outreach to prospective clients, creating interest and establishing value in Leadership Connect offerings in coordination with the sales team.
- Becoming an expert in our public sector clients, workflows, and their challenges.
- Researching and becoming the subject matter expert in your prospect's industry.
- Understanding an organization’s business drivers, challenges, pain points and hierarchy.
- Engaging with executive leaders to discuss relevant business solutions and articulate product benefits and advantages relative to competitor offerings.
Getting Started:
- First Week: You will get to know the team, gain exposure to our products, and learn about our clients.
- First Month: You will be introduced to our data sets, receive training on our products and sales process, and develop an understanding of the sales verticals you could support.
- First Quarter: You will start leading your new business efforts and setting appointments with qualified prospects.
About You:
- You are results-driven and competitive, comfortable with developing new relationships over the phone, email, in-person, and through professional social platforms such as LinkedIn.
- You are perseverant, comfortable with cold out-reach and able to respond to disinterest with captivating questions and insightful advantages that can meet prospective clients' needs
- You are intellectually curious and want to understand how our clients develop relationships for influence and business development.
- You are a team player, willing to pitch in wherever necessary to support both clients and the company.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can contribute to the development and implementation of new processes.
- Strong communication skills and you love writing captivating, impactful messages.
- You effectively work on a team as well as independently.
- Proficient in a CRM, preferably HubSpot, have superior time management and organization skills, and don’t mind getting your hands dirty to deliver results.
- Previous experience in a sales lead generation role is desired
