Transport Lead
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Shift Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Drive consistent last mile delivery performance within the scheduled delivery windows
- Proactively tracking drivers throughout the day using dispatching tools, and contacting them by phone at regular intervals to ensure on-time delivery
- Collect and document detailed information on failed, partial deliveries and customer complaints and escalate to the respective stakeholders for quick resolutions and future planning.
- Interpret information from various stakeholders to determine the best course of action to promote delivery success
- Develop a strong geographic understanding of operating markets, as well as the mix of business in each location and the individual couriers daily performance and areas of support
- Continuous training, monitoring, and coaching of delivery representatives / drivers (both outsourced and FTE)
- Provide telephone support to drivers and couriers for reporting emergencies, breakdowns and liaise with the 3P to have the issues addressed in real time.
- Communicate information and instructions to drivers (schedules, route changes, road conditions, accidents, emergencies, etc.) informing them of a variety of situations that may impact their scheduled services or deliveries
- Work closely with the customer support team to ensure proactive communication with customers regarding delivery-related issues, questions, or clarifications
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary education i.e. HND or B.Sc in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Business Development, Statistics or Engineering
- 2+ years' experience in directly and indirectly managing people to deliver continuous improvement.
- Preferred hands-on LMS or FMS experience in a busy e-commerce/distribution setup
- You have in-depth knowledge of last-mile logistics
- Good communication skills
- Flexible to work either day or night shift
