We are seeking an Engineering Chief of Staff to drive and streamline our product roadmap planning process and our regular product release updates. This role requires a technical background to understand and facilitate seamless software releases, interface between business and technical teams, interface with prospects and customers when needed, and overall help enhance our overall efficiency and effectiveness.
ABOUT YOU
As the Engineering Chief of Staff you will report directly to the SVP of Engineering and oversee the end-to-end release process for the Hyperproof application including feature planning, prioritization, scheduling, verifying, and ultimately shipping product releases. You'll collaborate closely with the Quality team, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and engineering teams to ensure that our release processes are efficient, timely, and well-coordinated.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU TO DO
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, customer support, marketing, and operations, to align release plans, address dependencies, and communicate progress. Establish effective communication channels to provide timely and accurate release-related information to stakeholders including prioritization process and ongoing product backlog and schedule, including monthly product roadmap reviews to all stakeholders.
- Release Management: Manage the end-to-end release management process, including planning, coordination, and execution of software releases. Drive efficient weekly shiproom meetings to track risks and issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define release scope, schedules, and dependencies. Make sure we have accurate release notes and comprehensive product documentation by working with engineering and our documentation team.
- Release Cycle Optimization: Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the release cycle by implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and identifying areas for automation. Set goals and KPIs to measure and optimize release cycle time and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with our engineering and product managers to ensure consistency in scheduling, reporting out, and releasing features to make everyone’s lives easier.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact release timelines. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Proactively communicate and address risks with stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on release schedules.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all releases meet relevant compliance standards and regulations specific to SaaS compliance products. Stay updated with industry compliance requirements and guide the team in implementing necessary controls and documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking opportunities to optimize release processes, tools, and methodologies. Lead and implement process improvements,release automations and measure their impact, and foster a culture of innovation and learning within the release management team.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Project Management are a definite plus.
- Proven experience of 5 or more years as a release manager or 8 or more years in a product management or product engineering management role role in a SaaS product company.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in release management.
- Ability to understand automation test cases written in multiple languages including TypeScript.
- In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, DORA metrics, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations relevant to SaaS compliance products.
- Proficient in using release management tools and software version control systems, including Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement.
- Detail-oriented mindset, with a passion for ensuring smooth and timely software releases.

The full compensation package is based on candidate experience and certifications.Remote USA$170,000—$200,000 USD
