We’re on a mission to help parents ignite a love of learning and a love of life.As a Staff Accountant – AP and AR Operations focused on our day-to-day accounting operations, you will be a key member of the Accounting Team and partner with business leaders to support our customers and vendors for our Book Fairs and Kids Club business. We seek a self-starter with a strong accounting foundation who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced growth environment. When we make an offer, we can provide options so employees can choose between compensation packages prioritizing salary or equity. The salary band for this role will be between $60,000 - $70,000. This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Proficiency in Tipalti and/or Oracle NetSuite is preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Facilitate and help manage the Accounts Payable process
Independently prepare vendor reconciliations, and update underlying systems to properly reflect our liabilities
Perform weekly AP and system reconciliations and assist with cash forecast required to support the business
Manage all general ledger coding, approvals, and communication with cross-functional teams for vendor management
Reconcile the general ledger each month for accounts payable and identify any accruals required as part of the close process
Work with management and executive team to estimate cash requirements and forecast
Manage and post cash receipts provided by Customers
Post payments to internal systems and manage bank account mappings for customer payments
Communicate with customer success and sales as necessary in supporting accounts receivable process and reconciliations
Implement, adhere to, and assist in revisions to the system of internal controls
Cross-functional communication with other departments to improve financial statement source data
Ad hoc reporting and presenting of analysis to all levels of management
Other special projects as assigned
