Val Media is a Malaysian-based media company with an audience spanning across Southeast Asia. We are the creative force behind ProductNation, a media brand renowned for its innovative approach to video content creation, particularly in the consumer tech sector.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Video Producer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire video production process, from pre-production planning to post-production editing, ensuring that all video content meets the highest standards of quality and creativity. You will work closely with our Creative Director and other key stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to life.
Responsibilities:
- Video Pre-production: Assist in the pre-production process, including storyboarding, location scouting (recce), and scheduling, to ensure a smooth production workflow.
- Video Production: Set up scenes, including managing audio and lighting, and serve as the main camera operator. Ensure that the production process runs smoothly according to the production plan.
- (BONUS) Video Post-production: Edit raw footage into the final video, incorporating external elements such as motion graphics and sound effects to enhance the content.
Requirements:
- Ability to handle multiple video projects simultaneously and ensure smooth execution based on timelines.
- Proficiency in handling DSLR cameras (e.g., Sony, Canon).
- Familiarity with smartphone videography.
- Experience with audio and video editing software, including DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and CapCut.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to plan content, fact-check claims, and write scripts.
- Conversational-level command of English. Understanding Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for the video production process and a keen interest in creating engaging, shareable content.
- Attention to detail when it comes to project requirements, timeline and execution.
- Strong understanding of video production techniques, including lighting, color control, framing, and composition.
- Experience in video pre-production processes, including content ideation, scripting, and content planning.
