During this time, Reeves realized that secure communications – considered core infrastructure elsewhere in technology – didn’t exist for robots in fields like construction, agriculture, warehousing, or elsewhere. FORT was founded to create a first-of-its-kind Robotics Control Platform (RCP) to empower companies with unique tools to ensure robots cause no harm.The Manufacturing Support Specialist will be critical to FORT's overall operations management.
They will be able to adapt to numerous different roles, spanning technical troubleshooting to essential product quality management. The manufacturing engineer will manage the entire lifecycle of product returns, from initial contact to processing returns, performing repairs or coordinating replacements, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The expectation for this role is to develop into a key member of the product troubleshooting team.The Manufacturing Support Specialist is also critical in inventory management, day-to-day operations, and product testing. This includes assisting with monthly inventory counts, conducting rigorous quality control tests, and inspecting all new products to ensure reliability.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Evaluate returned products to determine the cause of problems and the feasibility of repair or need for replacement.
- Perform repairs on returned items, including hardware troubleshooting, software resetting, and part replacements.
- Update and maintain accurate records of all RMA activities in the company's database, including tracking the status of returns, repairs, and customer communications.
- Work closely with the customer service team to ensure a seamless customer experience, providing updates and resolutions promptly.
- Conduct quality control tests on repaired items to ensure they meet the company's standards before returning them to customers.
- Provide product development and quality assurance teams feedback to improve product reliability and reduce future returns.
- Perform critical inspections and maintain material quality metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations regarding returns and repairs.
Operations Support Responsibilities:
- Assist the Production team with conversions and testing, ensuring that all operational aspects align with quality standards and efficiency metrics.
- Assist the Inventory team with monthly inventory counts, crucial in managing and optimizing inventory accuracy and availability.
- Maintain quality metrics on products shipped back from customers.
- Program and provision new or repaired products to meet our goals.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma, equivalent, technical certification, or associate degree in electronics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service and/or manufacturing, particularly in a technical or repair-focused role.
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various electronic devices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical information understandably.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using software systems for tracking and processing returns and repairs.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and a positive attitude towards problem-solving.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to be onsite 100% of the time.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and manual dexterity for repair work.
- It may require lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
