We are currently hiring for a Director of Sales (Insurance Technology) who will report to the VP Sales The Director of Sales engages with major P&C Carriers, identifies and establishes alignment between Plnar’s solutions and customer’s business drivers, and manages all aspects of sales cycles within an assigned set of accounts. Director of Sales teaches high level prospective and current customers new and valuable solutions and how to compete in their market and translating that into a successful relationship with Plnar. In addition, the Director of Sales acts as a team lead, and coaches and mentors strategic account executives.Please note: Candidates who proceed to final stages will be required to provide 2-3+ years of verifiable sales track record (annual quota and quarter by quarter attainment numbers).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for winning a high level of new top tier business and develops existing accounts
- Acts in the capacity of the sales expert for the team and supports the Senior Leadership in on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies.
- Creates formal networks with key decision makers
- Builds relationships with key influencers, develop business insight into and have informed opinions on future strategies of assigned accounts.
- Secures and leads face-to-face meetings with business leaders and decision makers including “C” level executives within our target marketplace
- Develops, maintains, and grows an ongoing sales pipeline
- Maintains current and accurate information on account status and sales activity in SalesForce.com
- Manages the account development and opportunity pursuit process from initial assignment through close using Salesforce CRM
- Accurately forecasts new bookings
- Develops and deploys strategies for securing new accounts.
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.
- Responsible for reporting metrics, sales pipeline metrics to executive leadership
- Collaborate and strategize with marketing on lead generation campaigns
- Collaborate with VP Sales and marketing on a conference outreach.
- Initiate and execute on a breadth of sales strategies and outreach campaigns
- Maintain thought leadership on sales strategies and the latest trends in the insurtech market.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of sales experience selling software and services to the property insurance industry.
- Must have solid knowledge of property claims/underwriting workflow and operations. Must have sold to executive levels and welcomes these types of conversations with Chief Claims Officers and others at that same level
- Experience working in small, nimble private companies
- Efficiently use Salesforce to maintain and manage and track all sales activities.
- Adaptability - the ability to work in an ever-changing environment is critical. Creative and strategic thinking to break into new sectors
- Experience working in small, nimble private companies a plus
- Previous demonstrable experience launching successful insurance software products
- Strong communication and relationship management skills are a must.
