Senior Financial Analyst
role:
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who gets excited about building something from the ground up in a startup environment and has a background in franchising - either supporting a franchisor or a large-scale franchisee - in order to understand, support, and guide our growth as an emerging franchise brand. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in providing insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support the company's decision-making processes. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for month end close, financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, as well as identifying trends and opportunities for growth and margin improvement.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst
?
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Partner with the Sr. Staff Accountant and the Director of Finance and Accounting to ensure the books are closed on a timely basis.
- This role will help manage multiple entities to ensure Financial reporting is consistent, board and investor ready.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting updates.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather necessary data and assumptions for accurate forecasts.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support long-term strategic planning by providing financial insights and scenario analysis.
- Evaluate the financial impact of potential business opportunities and investments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Work closely with various departments, including Operations, Sales, and Marketing, to provide financial guidance and support.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.
What are the minimum qualifications of the Senior Financial Alayst?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and Excel, Google Products, and QBO
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Datarails, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
