Title: DC Facility Manager
(Cikarang/Jakarta)
The DC Facility Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day operations, leading a pro-active approach to maintenance and procedures, managing delivering the services level committed to ECX Clients. This role reports to Campus Manager, Regional Director, and Regional Manager.The DC Facility Manager will be an experienced manager with extensive facilities maintenance, vendor management, computer, and interpersonal skills. Technical, commercial, and managerial skills will be prime requirements. The DC Facility Manager will have an intimate understanding of the customer service requirements and expectations; and the infrastructure on the Data Centers of EdgeConneX.
This position will be based in Cikarang, Jakarta.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the M&E Services (e.g power, cooling, space, and asset inventory) within the Data Center in a 24/7 mission critical environment.
- Provide leadership and guidance to teams, ensuring the performance of the team and delivery of Service Level Agreement.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and manage a team of engineers, including outsourced; and to be on standby with 24/7 on-call emergency response and availability.
- Maintain M&E Services infrastructure and coordinate with vendors.
- Manage and plan for MEP preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
- Handle client enquiries and requests.
- Work closely with project development teams during DC design and development phases, ensuring all operational requirements are defined and implemented correctly during constructions.
- Participate in all testing and commissioning of systems, and support Operations Director to plan and manage the transition from construction to stable operations of the DC.
- Recruit qualified engineers/technicians and manage their performance, morale, and training.
- Ensure company and data center operations process and procedures are followed and meet internal/external audit standards.
- Schedule and supervise the performance of routine maintenance and emergency repairs on all building services and data center M&E equipment.
- Implement company occupational health and safety program on site, ensuring strict compliance by employees and contractors.
- Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to operate existing systems efficiently, including their lifecycle cost, with conclusions and suitable approaches to problems.
- Develop and manage facility budget for maintenance, repairs, capital, and general operating costs.
Maintenance Management:
- Identify and maintain the mandatory legal requirements in connection with the operation and maintenance of the data center .
- Develop maintenance master plan for planned preventive maintenance, cyclical parts replacement, major maintenance, and overhaul works.
- Develop maintenance standards, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct performance appraisal for subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Ensure no violations of Environmental, Health & Safety legislations and security policies, procedures, guidelines, and house rules.
- Instill a culture of ownership, high standard of care, expertise and diligence in all key personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits on subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Incident Management:
- Act as the first level of escalation to ensure incidents are resolved within the duration as stipulated under the client SLA.
- Draft, review, approve and submit incident report with root cause analysis as stipulated under client SLA timeline.
- Review, approve and submit Facilities Monthly Report as stipulated under Client SLA.
- Review, approve and submit quotations for corrective maintenance, improvement projects, customer installs, and ad-hoc works.
- Perform any other duties as instructed by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Ability to be at the data center location within 30 minutes of being called in for emergencies.
- Operational experience with critical facility equipment/ system including, but not limited to transformers, generators, DRUPS, UPS, PDU, Chiller System, CRAH and Fire System.
- Work independently with minimum of supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain all facility related documentation. Detailed and careful in submissions and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities.
- Excellent ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging peer assistance/input.
- Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to ‘getting a job done.’
Experience/Education
- Degree in electrical, mechanical or related engineering studies.
- Safety Training for Operational Supervisors
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- 3+ years of management experience in a data center environment
