Senior JavaScript Full-Stack Engineer
Remote, Anywhere in the US
About the role
Are you a full-stack JavaScript engineer that wants to have an impact on the world while working at a recently funded, scaling startup? Do you enjoy getting a “yes” from your boss when you want to try something new? If you need to try out a new framework or find a new way of doing things, do you get excited? If you answered yes to all the questions above, AnswersNow may be the company for you. We are looking for a Full-Stack JavaScript Engineer who can translate requirements into a world-class product.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain features for our client-facing web application in an AWS ECS stack. Our current tools include React, React Redux with Sagas, Node.js, and Docker
- Work with an agile team to deliver frequent iterations, including individual and collaborative work
- Perform and participate in PR reviews, technical discussions, and requirement elaboration activities
- Pair, share, and mentor with other developers on the team and other stakeholders on other teams
- Occasional production support on rotation
- Contribute work on UI, API, and DB tiers. It is not necessary to be an expert on all tiers
- Contribute high-quality work while being adaptive to frequent change
About you
- Thrive in an early-stage environment where there are tons of unknowns and risk
- Unafraid to ask questions, experiment with new approaches, take initiative, operate with a sense of urgency
- Are personable, community-oriented and enjoy networking
- Excellent communicator and presenter
- Persuasive and have a knack for devising creative, “win win” solutions
Requirements
- Deep expertise in building web products with JavaScript and React
- Background building APIs using NodeJs and Express
- Experience in relational databases such as PostGres
- Currently proficient or having an active interest in cloud-based development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences
- 5+ years of experience working in a full-stack or API engineering role
- Experience in technical leadership of an engineering team is a bonus
- Strong foundation in programming, algorithms, and software application design
- Passion for solving challenging problems and iterating quickly
- Previous start-up experience is a definite plus
