Administrative Assistant to support a customer at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) agency in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The environment is dynamic, and the client needs are often evolving.  This is a full-time remote position. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should be well-organized, have outstanding time management skills. Flexibility and forward-thinking views are important to possess. The company seeks a candidate who will contribute to the efficiency of our business by providing personalized and timely support to executive members.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide a broad range of administrative support, which includes budget/financial tracking, travel arrangements, payroll records, purchasing, security processing, correspondence control/filing, time/attendance administration, and telephone support.
  • Format information for internal and external communications, memos, emails, presentations, and reports.
  • Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, develop travel information.
  • Prepare and /or assist travelers with travel arrangements and expense reports upon their return. 
  • Develop and maintain contact lists.
  • Ensure that the manager's time is optimized and that commitments align with priorities.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes. Develop and submit meeting’s action items.

Qualifications and Skills


  • A minimum of four (4) years of previous diversified clerical, administrative, and general office experience, within a federal government environment is preferred
  • Minimum education that consists of a high school diploma or GED.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, creative and willing to take work independently
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent review and attention to detail skills
  • Familiarity with other office software applications
  • Discretion and confidentiality
