Job Description:
The Air Force Department is seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to enhance its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiative. The successful applicant will utilize sophisticated data analytics and artificial intelligence to pinpoint, evaluate, and mitigate risks, guaranteeing mission accomplishment and informed strategic decisions. This role involves aiding the SAF/MG (the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Performance Management Accountable Official) in creating and expanding a comprehensive ERM strategy, encompassing governance, evaluation, and reporting protocols.
Responsibilities will also include advancing the ERM framework, conducting risk analyses, and preparing related plans and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that data is accurate, reliable, and properly stored. This involves collaborating with data engineers to design and implement data pipelines.
- Utilizing advanced data analytics and AI to identify, assess, and manage risks. This includes developing models to predict potential risks and their impacts.
- Implementing real-time risk factor monitoring systems enables the Air Force to respond swiftly to emerging threats.
- Providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. This involves analyzing large datasets to uncover trends and patterns that inform policy and operational decisions.
- Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure risk management strategies align with overall mission objectives. This includes presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience Requirements:
Mandatory:
- 8 Years or Experience
- Experience building digital dash boards (i.e. Power BI, Tableau)
- Utilize tools like ServiceNow’s GRC module for real-time monitoring and reporting
- Extensive experience in data analytics, machine learning, and AI.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred:
- Understanding of ERM Program Plan with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 90-802, Risk Management
