The Public Policy Coordinator will implement and coordinate a wide range of administrative, research, communication, and logistical services in support of the Legal, Policy, & Community Engagement team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL DUTIES):
- Provide administrative support to the Policy team.*
- Conduct fact substantiation for policy and other organization documents.*
- Develop factsheets, resources, presentations, and brief reports for the members of the department.
- Perform research activities ranging from cursory Internet searches for to background searches and/or literature searches on a wide range of topics including but not limited to policy issues, cessation issues, Medicaid and Medicare issues, tobacco, nicotine, and vape related facts. *
- Ability to develop deep knowledge of at least one substantive policy area as assigned on behalf of department.*
- Take notes and provide summaries for internal and external meetings, Hill briefings and hearings, etc.*
- Support Policy team leaders in managing various coalition and partner contacts, meetings, and communication.
- Handle calendar management; schedule appointments, conference calls and maintain Outlook contacts for the team.*
- Occasionally assist with arranging travel plans and itineraries.*
- Perform clerical functions such as copying, mailing, scanning and/or faxing as needed.
- Exercise diplomacy, confidentiality and good judgment always when dealing with staff vendors, stakeholders and Board members.*
- Act as a liaison with executive and senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from senior leadership.*
- Provide other duties based on the needs of the department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in fact-checking, searching through scientific literature and other searches, regulatory and/or legislative policy work, and administrative support.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; and ability to work effectively with diverse group of co-workers and external stakeholders.
- The candidate must be detail-oriented, flexible and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational skills; time management skills; strong proofreading with attention to details and deadline; and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the department as well as a positive attitude to set the tone for a professional work environment.
- Capability of multi-tasking, handle crisis in an effective manner and thrive and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and task management tools.
- Hill experience is a plus.
This position is based in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and two telework days.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
The salary range for this role is starting at $55,000-$58,000 on a national basis. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, relevant work experience, skillset, internal equity, location, and certifications, consistent with applicable law. Salary is just one part of our total rewards package which additionally includes equity, performance bonus for eligible roles, and competitive benefits.
