Job Description
The candidate is responsible to efficiently manage the crypto exchange operations whereby they need to protect customer assets, ensure the delivery of orders seamlessly while minimizing exposure to operational, market risks. The successful candidate will be working with various partners to support the onboarding, trading, withdrawal and deposit processes efficiently. The Custody role will require the candidate to assume the responsibility of safeguarding crypto assets, processing token movements to ensure smooth trading and withdrawals, as well as maintaining and performing internal control functions.
Role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day cryptocurrency operations, including USD and coin settlement with LPs/over platform.
- Identify & manage initiatives to improve operational processes and reduce operational risk
- Monitor operational and risk metrics and escalate potential issues or anomalies
- Support new crypto initiatives from an operational, risk, and compliance perspective
- Partner with our customer experience and content teams to continuously improve crypto related customer communications
- Maintain and evolve operating procedures to complement compliance written supervisory procedures
- Partner with treasury, operations, and security teams to manage liquidity and minimize crypto risk
- Work closely with fraud and compliance teams to execute a robust AML and KYC program related to crypto
- Test controls to ensure customers receive exceptional execution quality with venues
- Coach and manage a team of Crypto Operational Specialists
- Participate in BitOasis Crypto governance committees including a risk committee
- Ensure all section documentation like Procedure manuals, Control Standards, SLAs etc are up-to-date
- Ensure that processes are duly followed when performing tasks and checklists are maintained effectively
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
- 6+ years’ of custody and settlement experience in the financial services industry
- Possess a good knowledge and understanding of the custody platforms like Bitgo/Fireblocks, experience of working with LPs, and managing an OTC operations is a MUST.
- Experience in demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
- Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions and demonstrated experience managing such mechanisms to an end result
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multitasking skills are vital
- Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and mid-senior levels of management
