We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires a deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations.Requirements
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment, including production machines, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and conveyors, to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues with production and facility equipment. This includes identifying the root cause of failures and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and calibration of new equipment and machinery. Ensure that all installations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and parts inventory. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with GMP, OSHA, and other relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production, quality assurance, and engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements to equipment and maintenance procedures to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety.
- Safety: Follow and enforce all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar regulated industry.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing and data analysis
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and confined spaces.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
