Full Time (40 hours per week)

Work Schedule:

Mondays through Fridays 8:30 am to 5 pm
Location: 2637 N 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19133 (On Site Only)

JOB SUMMARY:


The Resource Home Support Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and success of the Resource Home Program.  The Supervisor acts as a liaison between the Agency and an array of contractors providing services to children and youth in care.  

Goals of Management


  • Provide children youth with protection, care and a nurturing environment with certified Resource Parents (RP) while a permanent plan is established 
  • Timely reunification or permanency 
  • Increase permanency for children and youth. 
  • Decrease the use of higher-level child welfare and behavioral health placement settings, such as group home, residential treatment and psychiatric residential treatment  

Some duties and responsibilities


are:


  • Supervise five Resource Home Support Workers (RHSW), a maximum of 150 resource homes 
  • Complete 40 hours of training in the first year and 20 annually thereafter 
  • Manage caseloads, performance and corrective action 
  • Provide and properly document supervision at least bi-weekly with each RHSW 
  • Maintain ongoing communication and meetings with RHSWs to ensure all are properly notified of updates on child welfare regulations, child law amendments, etc. 
  • Ensure that case files are in accordance with the responsibilities and qualifications of the Resource Home program as per the agency, city and state regulations 
  • Will approve or disapprove new or existing resource parents who want to transition from Kinship to General 
  • Oversee the Resource Parent Support Workers' file review, cases and casework to ensure that quality services are delivered in compliance with program’s timelines and guidelines 
  • Participate and be a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team, working in conjunction with other team members of the program to ensure the success 
  • Review regular interactions between RHSW and RP to ensure adequate support and placement stability 
  • Ensure compliance with sharing information with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and Community Umbrella Agencies (CUA) and incorporation into Single Case Plan (SCCP) and Individual Case Plan (ICP) 
  • Coordinate with CUA and RP to ensure all transportation and services are scheduled appropriately 
  • Serve as escalation for issues between RHSW, CUA and RP 
  • Ensure that RPs receive initial and quarterly home inspections and remain in compliance with PA Chapter 3700 
  • Will be on-call to handle emergencies that may arise 
  • Will serve as proxy for RHSW, in their absence 
  • Participate in recruitment efforts and presentations in the community on behalf of the program, during business, after hours, and weekends and answer individual’s inquiries about how to become a Resource parent, without discrimination 
  • Participate in supervisory meetings with Program Director and maintain ongoing communication to ensure, emergencies, critical incidents, concerns, etc., are addressed, in a timely manner and immediately

  • Minimum of three years of experience providing services to children, youth and families in a behavioral health setting 
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field 
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearances, Pennsylvania Criminal Record Clearance, Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI), Medical Examination 
  • Preferably knowledge of Pa Chapter 3700 
  • Computer savvy, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
