The Role:
As Chief of Staff you will be the right hand to the CEO, focusing on business operations and strategy. This role will require you to utilize your business acumen, strategic thinking ability, and project management skills to provide leverage to the leadership team to assist in growing the business. The Chief of Staff will develop and maintain strong relationships with teammates in Commercial, Product, Engineering, and elsewhere to drive critical initiatives and priorities of the CEO.
What You’ll be Doing:
- At the direction of the CEO, manage or execute on 'special projects' or strategic initiatives across the company, often in partnership with relevant department leaders, including market analyses and process mapping
- Monitor and measure progress toward company performance objectives; develop and execute action plans to support the team’s achievement of performance objectives
- Discover solutions to issues affecting the performance of teams or the organization, and assist leadership team advance toward business milestones
- Provide data analysis and metrics of company’s productivity to the executive team and suggest ways to improve workflow, teamwork and budget management
- Compile and edit research-based briefing materials and presentations for key meetings, cross-functional meetings, including weekly management and leadership syncs, team summit, and other such meetings as may be needed from time to time
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers, partners, stakeholders, vendors to support the growth of the business
- Ensure a tight process for the drafting and review of quarterly and annual OKRs and facilitate the review of such in a way that will surface key focus areas, projects of cross functional overlap (and the requisite resources from each area) and deliberate consideration of 'what's missing'
- Assist the CEO in the management of their direct reports and key initiatives, ensuring timely follow-up on various action items, continuity and focus of periodic check-ins
Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years consulting at top tier firm
- Preferred: MBA
- Preferred: previous experience in venture-backed startups with an understanding of technology and/or healthcare
- Experience in program management and juggling many different tasks under tight deadlines and shifting priorities as needed
- Strong analytical, organizational, research, planning, communication, and project management skills are ideal
- Experience visualizing data and synthesizing insights for recommendations to key stakeholders
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
- Comfort working with remote teams
- Adept at creating and maintaining operational excellence through strategy development and process excellence to improve team performance
- Can define how a project may benefit the company’s efficiency and strategic plan and help execute it
- Outstanding communications skills in both written and spoken English
- Excellent proficiency using Google Suite of products (Mail, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar)
- Skilled in relationship building with a high sense of integrity
Travel and Other Information:
- For candidates local to the San Francisco Bay Area, the ability to commute to our office on Market Street in San Francisco at least 2-3 days/week

The salary range for this position is: $150,000-200,000/year.
