Our client, a well-established homebuilder, is seeking a Director of Real Estate Development to manage residential land opportunities from raw land to third-party fully developed finished lots. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee investigation of land details and due diligence to determine eligibility for land acquisition
- Coordinate with Land Acquisition Managers through the negotiation for purchase
- Oversee and consult with municipal staff on timelines and application processes
- Oversee the completion, submittal, and approval of zoning applications, including rezoning, PUD, plat, variances, and amendments
- Review municipal ordinances and write PUD development standards, ordinances, and related documents
- Consult with engineers and landscape architects on the design and layout of conceptual plans
- Oversee and review due diligence packages and site inspections for development-related issues
- Facilitate and attend meetings with key stakeholders, including utility providers, planning staff, government officials, civic organizations, and local neighborhood groups, as well as public hearings and neighborhood meetings
- Prepare all presentation materials for public hearings and stakeholder meetings
- Work with the Land Development and Construction teams to ensure that development and construction comply with all requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, construction management, business, or a related field of study
- Experience in real estate or local government is a plus
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
