We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join Prosper’s Business Intelligence team. Analytics Engineering is the intersection between Data Engineering and Analytics, where the ability to understand and communicate the needs of the business is blended with direct technical expertise to build data objects that enable end users to drive the business forward.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer you will partner with a variety of teams (Product, Marketing, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, etc.) to develop and manage complex data models, provide advanced insights, and ensure data quality. Ideally, you have strong proficiency in SQL, dbt, BigQuery (or another cloud warehouse), and data visualization. Curiosity, creativity, and a desire to be part of an innovative culture in fintech will also be key drivers for success in this role.
Problems You Will Solve
- Lead the development of complex data models and ETL pipelines using dbt
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytics requirements and solutions
- Optimize data processing and integration workflows
- Apply machine learning concepts to enhance analytical capabilities
- Utilize Tableau for creating interactive and insightful visualizations
- Leverage GCP and BigQuery for scalable data processing and monitoring
- Champion data quality initiatives and enforce best practices
All About You
- Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience
- 4 - 7 years' experience with intermediate to advanced SQL development
- 3+ years' experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, Mode, etc.)
- Advanced understanding of data structures and lineage for reporting and analytics
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple analytics projects from start to completion
- Financial services background preferred
- ETL tools (dbt, SSIS, Informatica, Alteryx, Talend, etc.) (nice to have)
- Python or related object-oriented programing experience (nice to have)
- Direct experience using GitHub or another code management tool (nice to have)
