This role will work on connected vehicle services for customers owning vehicles with connected capabilities across the USA and Canada. These systems consist of several backend, frontend, and middleware applications. The systems integrate with the connectivity units inside the vehicle, and enable features like the ability to remotely start the vehicle, view parking locations, Alexa voice commands, and many more. As a full time member of our OnSite Business Unit team, we prioritize your individual career growth by providing optional check-in support, a yearly retro, and access to a variety of learning resources to ensure you are always growing and working towards your goals.This is a full-time salaried hybrid role located in Auburn Hills, MI.
You must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience, with a strong focus on hands-on leadership
- 5+ years of software program/project management experience, with a proven track record of managing mid/large IT/software projects (e.g., $2M+ revenue or teams of 20+)
- 2+ years of experience in status reporting to C-suite executives
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry; exposure to connected/autonomous vehicle technology is a significant plus
- Experience with Agile methodologies and practices
- Strong track record in building and leading high-performing software development teams
- Highly proficient analytical skills with the ability to quickly diagnose problems and implement effective solutions. Foresighted decision-making is crucial for success in this role
- Solid understanding of core and modern technologies, including Cloud, APIs, and Web Services
- Demonstrated ownership and success in driving outcomes within complex, matrixed global organizations
- Expertise in the full system lifecycle, from planning through operations
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Detroit Labs is not currently able to hire candidates who will reside outside of the United States during their term of employment
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mid to large-scale IT/software programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives
- Drive the adoption and implementation of Agile methodologies across teams, ensuring continuous improvement in project delivery
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to communicate program status, risks, and outcomes effectively
- Provide guidance and oversight on the use of core and modern technologies, including Cloud, APIs, and Web services, to ensure technical excellence in project execution
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful program outcomes
- Exercise foresighted decision-making, using strong analytical skills to address issues quickly and implement effective solutions
- Oversee the entire system lifecycle, from initial planning through to operational support, ensuring successful delivery and sustained performance
- Work a hybrid work schedule, coming into the Auburn hills office a minimum of three days per week
