Associate Director, Investments

As an Associate Director on our Investments team, you will work closely with senior leadership across the business, serving as a key member of the group responsible for sourcing, structuring, and negotiating Credigy’s investments. Focusing on both principal acquisitions and structured finance transactions, you will be responsible for leading transaction teams and making a significant contribution to investment efforts at Credigy. More specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Identify, negotiate and close transactions generated through an existing network of contacts in the industry, focused on consumer assets across the delinquency spectrum.
  • Build the company’s market position; continuously developing, maintaining and growing relationships with key players in the consumer finance industry.
  • Understand and evaluate market pricing and align the company’s investment strategies accordingly to meet our return requirements.
  • Work in close partnership with our valuation and risk teams to ensure optimal pricing on investments, which may include building and/or reviewing pricing models and budgets associated with the deal.
  • Review purchase, servicing, and financing agreements, as well as any other document that the specific transaction requires.
  • Produce and present meaningful investment memorandums with recommendations to our executive team; you must be capable of thoroughly explaining and defending your investment recommendations.
  • Engage in critical technical analysis of a wide variety of data sets; you must be comfortable attacking analytical problems.
  • Manage relationships with all levels of personnel at Credigy as well as senior executives at external constituencies such as investment banks, origination platforms, asset managers, brokers, attorneys, and other market participants.

In addition to executing on the responsibilities outlined for your role, it is a key expectation of ours that you manage, develop and coach other employees assigned to your deals, whether they report to you or someone else, as this is vital to the development of our deal teams. Qualifications:


  • Must be seeking a hands-on role in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience at an investment bank, hedge fund, asset manager, private credit investor, or similar financial institution preferred.
  • CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Is self-motivated and proactive;
  • Is able to consistently produce a high volume of work output without sacrificing quality;
  • Critical thinking, natural curiosity and creative problem solving skills;
  • Has a flexible and resilient personality;
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree (minimum);
  • High level of proficiency in Excel required. Proficiency in Bloomberg, Microsoft SQL, and Intex preferred.
  • In-office work at our Atlanta, GA headquarters required (4 days / week). Flexibility to travel preferred (1-2 times / month).
