We are looking for a motivated and experienced IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our IT systems and infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to provide top-notch technical support to our staff, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.We’re seeking someone who is proactive, customer-oriented, and capable of effectively troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

In addition to managing IT resources, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our technology environment.This role involves close collaboration with both internal Ascend IT staff and external 3rd-party vendors. While familiarity with GMP or GxP practices is preferred, comprehensive training will be provided.You will report directly to the Global VP of IT, offering you visibility and the chance to impact our global IT strategy.

Responsibilities:


1. Technical Support:


  • Provide first-line support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Respond to IT support tickets, emails, and phone calls to resolve technical problems.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, peripherals, and software applications for both office and lab-based users.

2. System Maintenance:


  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems and equipment.
  • Monitor system performance, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact users.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure accurate documentation of hardware and software configurations.

3. Network Support:


  • Support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and resolve connectivity issues efficiently.

4. User Training and Support:


  • Conduct inductions and training sessions for employees on IT best practices and the use of company software and hardware.
  • Create and maintain user guides, FAQs, and other support documentation.

5. Project Assistance:


  • Collaborate with the IT and Lab teams on various projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
  • Assist with the rollout of new applications and technologies to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

6. Compliance and Security:


  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to IT.
  • Support audits and implement security protocols to protect sensitive data and information.

Requirements


  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and German (required).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are a plus.
