To learn more, visit : https://www.gotrsd.org/inclusion-diversityPosition SummaryThe Development and Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing the foundation to support management of fundraising streams and community partnerships.
The primary activities of this role include; individual and corporate donation management, lead for individual and corporate peer-to-peer fundraisers, grants management and writing, and event planning. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Fund Development (50%)
- Work in partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to develop and implement an annual fund development plan
- Lead major fundraising campaigns and activities in collaboration with staff, Board of Directors, and committees
- Build organizational financial resources through a variety of fundraising efforts; develop new sources of income and maintain current revenue sources
- Manage task force and help build the framework for successful implementation and data migration into a new CRM platform
- Develop data analytic reports for monitoring of development strategy
- Assist peer-to-peer fundraisers with fundraising campaigns
Community Connections and Collaboration (20%)
- Attend and participate in community opportunities to promote GOTRSD
- Engage new donors, community partners, and corporate sponsors
- Maintain relationships with donors and implement ways of celebrating our donors
- Attend speaking engagements on behalf of GOTRSD in collaboration with the ED
Marketing and Communications (10%)
- Craft fundraising marketing materials
- Actively and routinely communicate with volunteers, donors, and GOTRSD community
- Develop marketing strategy around fund development
Volunteer Engagement (10%)
- Recruit volunteers for fundraising and event related activities
- Maintain all records related to volunteers
- Communicate with volunteers on a regular basis
Events Management (10%)
- Create and implement events that drive our fund development strategy
- Manage day of event and follow-up
- Collaborate with Board of Directors on board sponsored event
Work Environment and Physical Demands: This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with required time in office based on organizational needs. It requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time and frequent communication via phone, email, and video conferencing. It also requires the ability to assist in event set-up, execution, and clean-up. This position is hybrid and does require travel. Monthly office time with the team is required. Work schedule is flexible. We are looking for a candidate with:
- Education and/or experience in fundraising, grant writing, events management, or nonprofit sector
- Experience leading or managing successful fundraising campaigns of any size
- Understanding of local philanthropy network and proven success with relationship building
- Demonstrated success executing events of varying sizes
- Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences both internal and external
- Knowledge of database (CRM) management
- Proficient skills in Google Workspace, Gmail, Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel locally within the San Diego area (mileage reimbursement applicable). Possible national travel once per year
- A meaningful commitment to leveraging the opportunities of this role to implement a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion into the fundraising and development plan
