Facilities and Maintenance Technician III

We currently operate in the States of Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Michigan as a medical and/or adult use cannabis provider to patients and customers. Job Summary


The Facilities and Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing day to day maintenance activities for the entire facility. The individual is proficient in a variety of hands-on maintenance activities, works in a safe manner, is mechanically inclined with a variety of tools and techniques and has excellent attention to detail in their work. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair complicated machinery issues. The Facilities and Maintenance Technician III will also work closely with leadership to ensure their needs are met.

This is a senior level in the Facilities and Maintenance Technician job series; this class differs from the Facilities and Maintenance Technician II by the nature and complexity of tasks performed and the higher level of independence granted. Pay for this role starts at $29/hour

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)


  • Under guidance of the Maintenance Manager, communicate and adjust maintenance schedules and resources as needed.
  • Proficient in the Facilities and Maintenance Technician duties and responsibilities, and ensures all work is undertaken to a high quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
  • Ensures proper performance and maintenance of all mechanical systems within the building.
  • Installs, repairs and performs preventative maintenance to building and machine electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoots any maintenance problems involving  structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Performing repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites.
  • Provides detailed material and replacement parts list needed for inventory to minimize equipment down time.
  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Provides coverage for the boiler and all HVAC and facility mechanical systems. 
  • Partners with the security team to ensure all safety and security systems are properly maintained.
  • Manages and maintains maintenance records in a computerized maintenance management system to achieve technical efficiency greater than 95%.
  • Assist with escorting and coordinating outside contractors and vendors.
  • Oversees the daily assignments of the Facilities and Maintenance Technicians with direction from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Cleans and maintains access areas to the building including entrances, exits, parking lots, and loading dock areas.
  • Provide coverage, support and training for the Facilities & Maintenance Technicians.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.

  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Lead, attend and participate in required training. 
  • Understands and follows all organizational policies, procedures and rules. 

Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum, technical certifications (i.e Amatrol, PLC, electrical, mechanical) are preferred.
  • Five years previous facilities and industrial maintenance experience required, experience with automated processing and packaging equipment/robotics in a food or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
  • Four years experience in one of the following: Industrial HVAC, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. 
  • Advanced fabrication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and building blueprints.
  • Exceptional attention to safety and detail, ability to follow SOPs and work in a cGMP environment.
  • Perform assigned duties in a safe manner while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry. 
  • Age: State Law required 21 years of age or older.

Working conditions


  • Requires weekend/holidays alternating rotation as needed.
  • May be called in after hours as needed.
  • Overtime as business needs require. 
  • Must remove all jewelry, including rings, brooches, watches, pins, earrings, necklaces and visible piercings. In addition, false nails, nail polish, false eyelashes and any other object that may possibly contaminate food is not allowed in the processing/production areas.

Physical requirements


  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, walking, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, perform elevated work and work in wide-ranging environmental conditions.
