Overview
Noetic is seeking a Data Scientist to collaborate with joint forces, providing and maintaining infrastructure and tools that can be used to deliver end-to-end solutions for big data and analytical problem sets. Additionally, this team member will collaborate with other experts within and outside the DoD to leverage expertise and enable better products.
Responsibilities
- Provide, maintain, and analyze infrastructure and tools that can be used to deliver end-to-end solutions for big data and analytical problem sets.
- Design new or integrate existing tools to automatically ingest, sort, tag, and organize various data sources and types according to a schema, methodology, or ontology.
- Data mine using applied mathematical formulas and/or regression analysis to determine the best variables and their appropriate weight for supporting predictive analysis.
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
- Provide expertise/assistance in identifying and integrating applicable technologies and/or methodologies from government or commercially available sources to address intelligence needs.
- Identify novel approaches to discerning patterns and correlations between disparate data sources use to answer intelligence needs.
- Develop new or refine existing databases to ingest, sort, tag, and organize various data sources and types (structured and unstructured) according to an ontology to enable wider integration and analysis for intelligence needs.
- Maintain working knowledge of current DoD Artificial Intelligence (Al) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives leveraging existing expertise to better meet customer needs.
- Develop and build relationships with other data scientists working similar problem sets and developing similar products within the DoD and other organizations.
- Collaborate with data scientists to ensure customer efforts are in-synch and optimized to integrate with tools and displays
- Brief leadership on new requirements to meet analytical needs and significant findings/events associated with playbook/modeling/forecasting and timing.
- Travel to meetings, conferences, symposiums, etc. under the discretion of leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- In depth with data management principles and technologies (e.g., database structure/schemas, data lake/lake house, SQL, etc.)
- Experience with data documentation: data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, etc.
- Strong understanding of data ingestion, ETL processes, and data organization.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages for data analysis and machine learning.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Experience with data mining, regression analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Experience with data cleaning, verification, and integrity checks.
- Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks.
- Knowledge of current AI and ML initiatives, techniques, and algorithms.
- Ability to analyze data and identify patterns and correlations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with other data scientists.
