What you will do
- Be a hands on leader, being an integral contributor to projects and codebases, as well as managing a team of 4 engineers.
- Work directly with Director of Engineering to architect, design and implement robust and performance solutions to complex engineering and customer problems.
- Working closely with Project Manager, manage, plan and organise Agile workloads for the team, leading ceremonies and ensuring productivity and adherence to performance goals.
- Design, develop and test infrastructure, services and application deployments
- Support engineering teams working on a variety of projects, from self hosted LLM models, to spawning of client IDE environments
- Development of CI/CD pipelines
- Implement and maintain monitoring & observability across Kubernetes environment using Grafana-Loki stack
- Work closely with the security team to harden systems and ensure resiliency and reliability of services
- Maintenance and cleanup of cloud resources for cost control and general housekeeping
- Championing of clear documentation and communication
Requirements
What you'll need to succeed
- Complete knowledge of the DevOps lifecycle.
- Expert knowledge of terraform paired with terragrunt.
- Experience working with multiple cloud providers, namely AWS & Azure.
- At least 4 years of experience with Linux operating systems, AWS/Azure combined with deploying and managing EKS clusters.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GithubActions and integrating ArgoCD.
- Istio or Cilium for service discovery.
- 2+ years of experience using open source observability stacks, preferably Grafana, Prometheus and Loki.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Bash, Go) and willingness to learn
- Use of Software Engineering best practices such as unit tests, runbooks and documentation.
- Experience designing, analysing, and troubleshooting distributed systems
Great to haves
- Interest in deploying infrastructure to support self hosted and open source AI models
- CKA or CKD certification
- Use of Open Telemetry for application tracing.
