What We Need:
Firaxis Games is currently seeking a Release Manager to help coordinate releases across multiple platforms for upcoming titles. You will be working closely with development, QA, Publishing and platform holders to ensure players are getting a reliable and quality experience.
What You Will Do:
- Release Planning & Coordination. Develop and maintain release plans; timelines, milestones & deliverables.
- Coordinate release activities across development, production, publishing QA, community management and player support.
- Experience in Risk Management. Work across teams to identify risks with upcoming builds across multiple platforms and properly escalate to help mitigate them to ensure smooth and timely releases.
- Be Firaxis touch point for any external certification process, build relationships with first party and understand their timelines and process.
- Develop documented, sustainable process and tools to manage everything from emergency, single platform hotfixes to major expansion releases.
- Own the strategy for monitoring releases via telemetry, QA, first party dashboards and other tools to ensure a clean roll-out.
- Help support any unplanned releases due to issues in Live - focusing on a quick resolution for players and minimizing risk.
- Own the Incident management process, follow up and drive action items to resolution.
- Ensure that what we are shipping has been signed off on by all stakeholders, both internal and external.
What We Need (Requirements/Must Haves:)
- 7 Years minimum developing and shipping Live Service PC/console games, including the following:
- Experience shipping and supporting Live software, continuous integration especially games.
- Experience with build certification and release processes across PC, Console and Mobile platforms.
- Experience managing multiple branches and releases simultaneously.
- Ability to plan and implement an effective branching strategy and process, as well supporting integration requests across those branches. You will be expected to be merging CLs!
- Top notch communication skills.
- Project management experience to understand, implement and improve the right sized process for the team and product.
- Technical mindset - ability to understand how various pieces of our infrastructure work together and their dependencies.
- Expertise with Perforce, JIRA and build submission.
- Passion for Video games, especially strategy.
