Technical Sales Professional


Job summaryResponsible for developing new business as well as maintaining business with existing clientele. This position involves inside and outside sales functions for Pump Down Plug and Perforating, Cased-hole logging, and tubing conveyed perforating, always serves as the primary liaison between the client and Horizontal operations including pre-job planning, in progress assistance and post-job follow up. This person must be able to assess complex information and provide solutions that add value to both Horizontal and the client for a wide range of problems that may arise in the wireline business.All jobs within Horizontal Wireline Services must be executed safely and in accordance with all regulatory and Horizontal specific Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Essential Functions 


  • Selling PDP and CH services (based on services offered at assigned base)
  • Account management for assigned clients
  • Market share and competitor analysis
  • Bid preparation and submission for approvals 
  • Job cost analysis
  • Forecasting and reporting
  • Developing sales plans
  • Problem job resolution

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics 


  • Must have 3 years minimum Wireline sales experience 
  • Knowledge of wireline services offered
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Previous Wireline field experience required
  • Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment
  • Thorough understanding of customer requirements and market conditions
  • Thorough understanding of products/systems
  • Good business acumen
  • Negotiating skills

Physical Work Activities and Exposure 


  • Frequent sitting, talking or hearing 
  • Use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls 
  • Must be able to dispatch to a client’s office or job-site on short notice
  • Able to work and drive in changing climate conditions 

Qualifications 


  • High School/GED, Undergraduate degree in geology or engineering preferred. 
  • Language Skills: Ability to write reports and effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, supervisors and customers.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.

Special Requirements 


Possession of or ability to obtain a valid state driver’s license.
