Position Overview:
Support the design team in developing men’s apparel from concept through production. Assist in establishing seasonal design directions, and collaborating with the founder and design team to maintain a cohesive vision across all categories.
This is a hybrid position with three days per week required in the office. You must be located in the Detroit Metropolitan area to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing seasonal design directions for each category, ensuring alignment with market trends and overall design vision.
- Stay informed about global design trends and their application in the industry.
- Contribute to the conceptualization process within assigned categories.
- Support the exploration of innovative design ideas by researching product functionality and outlining areas for innovation.
- Prepare and present design concepts, from initial sketches to detailed renderings and digital presentations.
- Assist in the transition of designs to Production Development (PD) teams, ensuring all design details are accurately communicated.
- Support with the creation of digital sketches utilizing tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Support with the creation and maintenance of digital sketch libraries, line sheets, garment organization.
- Maintain the organization of our sample archives as well as current sample assets.
- Create trend presentations and prepare the design office for design presentations.
- Support the design team as needed to maintain an efficient working environment.
- Flex to support the other design departments to gain exposure to other aspects of the design process.
- Own the sample management process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of fashion design principles and industrial design.

- Proactive, mature, and solution-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency in design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) on Macintosh computers.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with design software and tools.
