Senior Accountant

With limited supervision, this position is responsible for performing specific accounting functions: month-end close process, balance sheet account reconciliations, revenue and expense account analysis, and general ledger journal entries. The position will assist with other ad hoc projects as required.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including performing journal entries for revenue and expense accruals, prepaids and other adjustments, as needed.  Coordinate with other departments to ensure inputs are accurate and received timely
  • Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and reporting to management
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and conduct follow-up/clearing of open items for accounts remaining under local responsibility
  • Preparation of account analysis/variance explanations and reconciliation of certain income statement accounts
  • Provide various revenue and cost analyses/reports as directed by your manager
  • Assist in compiling information for monthly internal reporting, quarterly external financial reporting and year-end external financial audit
  • Establish and build effective and productive relationships within the accounting and finance departments, as well as other relevant departments within the organization
  • Prepare various ad hoc projects for manager review

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or similar field required; CPA required (license obtained or in process)
  • 3-4 years accounting experience; public accounting experience highly regarded
  • Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and organized
  • Demonstrated ability to apply accounting principles to daily work
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets; detail-oriented and organized
  • Self-sufficient and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and schedule own work with input from supervisor.
  • Supports team approach to achieving organizational objectives and promotes a positive work environment
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Oracle or other ERP experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening
