Attention to detail is key! The ideal candidates will have proven experience in Accounting or Finance, with ability to handle multiple tasks with consistent quality and sense of urgency.The Accounts Payable Specialist provides administrative and clerical support by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, monitoring expenses, and keeping a record of it all for tax purposes.
They make sure all bills are paid in an efficient and timely manner. This person will report to the Director of Accounting and work closely with internal and external partners as needed. This is a full-time role based out of our corporate office in Tempe, AZ.
WHO YOU ARE FOR THE TEAM
- One or more years of AP experience; high school diploma required
- prefer Associates degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business Accounting or Finance
- Working knowledge of accounting software platforms, Sage Intacct preferred
- High Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
- Personal integrity; ability to keep customer, vendor, and company confidences
- Aptitude for accuracy and meticulous detail, natural proficiency or passion for math
- Strong time management skills and detail orientation
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Thorough understanding of basic accounting, bookkeeping, and corporate finance principles and procedures; multi-entity experience a plus
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivables is a plus
Requirements
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Process onboarding for new customers and vendors into the Accounting systems
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to entry, including proper approvals, expense coding, and timely recording of expenses
- Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry
- Execute credit card data entry, coding, and reconciliation
- Review purchase orders when necessary
- Assist with payment run process
- Review statements, maintain vendor profiles, prepare 1099’s annually
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Assist with sales tax reporting
- Assist senior accounting team as needed
