We're looking for a junior Mechanical Engineer to join our awesome team.
You will join our R&D team in London, developing hardware for our novel bioreactor systems. Your collaborative spirit and love of all things mechanical will make you an essential member of our hardware team. Working alongside brilliant bioprocess engineers, biologists and mathematicians, you will be the go-to person for mechanical design and fabrication in our workshop and pilot facility.
At every step, you’ll play a huge role in shaping the future of a young and dynamic startup.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply principles of mechanical design to bioreactor systems. You will make full use of the workshop to bring these designs into reality. You will also collaborate with the Cells and Models teams to fabricate custom hardware to support laboratory experiments.You should have:
An undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering or a related discipline
Experience with Solidworks
Enthusiasm for practical / hands-on tasks
Knowledge of mechanical design principles
Familiarity reading and understanding technical drawings
Passion for collaboration and teamwork
Enthusiasm, curiosity, and drive
Ideally you'll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:
3D printing
Basic electronics and control systems including component selection, sourcing, and soldering
Programming
Production technologies such as extrusion, moulding, CNC, sheet metal, plastics fabrication etc.
Hygienic/aseptic design to ASME BPE, 3-A, EHEDG, or related
