Role:
The Server is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service in an establishment that encourages a rich customer experience around gaming and creative play in addition to enjoying quality food and craft beverages. Based on our focus around the customer experience our Servers handle a large numbers of tables. General functions include guest interaction, coffee and beverage preparation, food, and beverage delivery, all while maintaining a clean working environment and friendly disposition. Following our standards and steps of service the Server plays a very customer centric role in ensuring an experience of the highest quality with exceptional food and beverage choices.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully completes all major area functions including customer experience, food & beverage deliver, beverage preparation, stocking the back and server stations.
- Ensure guests overall restaurant experience by providing prompt, quality service with the customer’s best interest in mind and ability to remedy errors on our part.
- Adherence to processes and guidelines.
- Learn about and share knowledge of food & beverage menu, specials, and promotions.
- Maintains high quality standards including, but not limited to, adhering to our steps of service, operational guidelines and FOH standards for customer experience.
- Always have time for the customer.
- One Server will be assigned to close customer checks by working with the other Servers.
- Greet customers in a timely manner and determine how to best facilitate their request.
- Support other areas of restaurant operations as needed.
- Ensures beverages are prepared to recipe and proportioned correctly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess all necessary beverage and food permits.
- Two years of experience as a server in a restaurant which beer and or wine was served.
- Maintains a strong focus on the customer with the ability to build relationships and create positive experiences.
- Demonstrates responsible, ethical, and honest behavior.
- Possess the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in addition to covering shifts.
- Possess an understanding and appreciation for scratch cooking and craft beer.
- Demonstrated experience with or ability to learn specialty coffee preparation.
- Ability to learn menu, ingredients and successfully communicate this to others.
- Communicates effectively using clear, concise, and understandable language.
- Demonstrated ethical experience in handling cash and other forms of payment.
- Previous experience in effectively using a POS.
- Possesses the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure remaining positive and focused during times of pressure or adversity.
- Possess the ability to be trained on, learn, follow standard procedures, and take direction.
- Is resilient and quickly adjusts behaviors needed to be successful.
- Must be able to deal with different personalities in a high stress environment.
- Ability to effectively work in both in a team environment and independently.
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
- Possess the ability to work with others to solve problems and create solutions.
- Working knowledge of POS systems.
- Previous experience in a full-service restaurant operation.
