Role: 


The Front of House Supervisor is responsible for assisting in managing the operations of the main customer-facing areas in the restaurant in addition to their day-to-day duties as a bartender/server. This individual acts as a leader among the Front of House team to meet and exceed sales and service performance goals set by the Restaurant General Manager. In addition, this role receives direct mentorship from the Restaurant General Manager and provides administrative support. While the position primarily consists of bartending/serving shifts, the Front of House Supervisor may also occasionally be scheduled to act as a Floor Supervisor on peak nights.

  

Responsibilities: 


  • Provides leadership and supervision of all FOH employees in addition to bartending/serving.  
  • Implements and maintains standards and steps of service in line with company values.  
  • Provide feedback, answer questions, or assist in front of house operations and employee matters in adherence with the company values and mission statement.  
  • Assists in retention activities including, but not limited to: hiring, training, counseling, promotion, discipline, and termination.  
  • Ensures that shifts are set up for success by managing floor plans, phasing, start/end of shift tasks, restaurant orderliness, basic maintenance, and table transitions.  
  • Supervises staff adherence to food safety and health code guidelines.  
  • Provides administrative support to the Restaurant General Manager, including but not limited to updating draft lists, auditing FOH inventory, and updating policy documents.  
  • Acts as an authority on knowledge of food and beverage menus, promotions, and events 
  • Ensures beverages are prepared to receipt and properly proportioned. 
  • Works in tandem with the Restaurant General Manager to solve operational and service issues, and develop the problem solving abilities of the staff 
  • Provides regular progress reports to the General Manager. 
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications: 


  • High School diploma or GED. 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 
  • Must possess a valid local Food Handler’s Permit. 
  • 2-3 years’ experience in restaurant operations with spirits, beer and/or wine service, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Genuine interest in developing a deeper understanding of restaurant management. 
  • Comprehensive food and beverage knowledge with attention to craft and local providers. 
  • Possess a great passion for both the industry and customer experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand organizational strategies and business operations. 
  • Communicates in writing and verbally using clear, concise, and understandable language. 
  • Demonstrates responsible, ethical, and honest behavior. 
  • Able to convert stressful situations into positive experiences and stay calm under pressure. 
  • Always conducts self in a professional and positive manner when working with staff. 
  • Be able to accommodate a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Front of House. 
  • Previous experience as a manager or supervisor in a food service establishment with a full bar program, including handcrafted cocktails. 
  • Working knowledge of POS systems

  • Non-exempt: $20.44-22.44an hour plus tips
