104,167 - $156,251 annually. Depending on experience and qualifications.In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available. Incentives targets vary by role.We offer a bilingual differential for employees who can assist our members' financial needs in a second language. Proficiency is subject to passing a standardized verbal assessment. Currently approved languages are Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Tagalog.

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Officer to join our team! This position is responsible for developing, growing and managing a portfolio of quality, member business loan relationships in support of the credit union's strategic goals within the assigned market areas.Visa sponsorship not available.Contact us at 800.258.3115 with any questions or request for accommodation.

Responsibilities:


  • Identifies and develops new member business loan opportunities through a variety of networking methodologies and community involvement within the credit union’s footprint.
  • Develops profitable and positive networks within the business community. Assumes the responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relationships with existing/prospective members and Centers of Influence (COI’s).
  • Builds a quality member business loan portfolio, by negotiating terms and conditions within the credit union’s prescribed framework and strictly adhere to all commercial lending policies and procedures while meeting federal and state regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of competitor rates, programs, terms, and conditions in order to strategically present the credit union's programs.
  • Performs interviews and consultation with the prospective business loan member and assumes full responsibility for all aspects of the loan process, to include: collecting and reviewing the loan application and supporting financial documentation; collaboration with the Credit Analyst to provide a thorough analysis of the loan request; review of loan documentation; perform timely periodic annual term loan and risk reviews; monitor delinquencies and surface potential concerns with weakened credits.
  • Responsible for meeting high level monthly loan production and/or profitability goals; as well as sales activities and outbound calling goals.
  • Maintains the strong credit quality of the credit union’s member business lending portfolio through ongoing portfolio management.
  • Support a strong relationship banking culture acting as a subject matter expert in terms of product knowledge and promotion/marketing of a broad range of TwinStar Credit Union products and services.
  • Ensures that work areas are secure and well maintained in accordance with member privacy regulations and credit union requirements.
  • Serves as a resource and develops positive relationships with credit union internal partners, as well as branch personnel.
  • Complies with established State and Federal regulations as they pertain to transactions/tasks performed and completes necessary documentation and/or disclosures as required by law.
  • Acts as a mentor to commercial loan officers, assistant commercial loan officer, and other members of the department.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:


  • High school diploma (GED equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a high-volume, production-oriented, professional sales position.

Education and Experience Preferred:


  • Associates Degree in Finance, Business, or related field of study.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Possess a knowledge and understanding of commercial lending guidelines, regulatory procedures, processes, and laws as they pertain to the acceptance and approval of member business loans.
  • Experience with investor commercial real estate, commercial & industrial lending, and business deposit products.
  • Ability to execute demanding production (loan and deposit) goals.
  • Experience with and/or working knowledge of financial services loan and documentation systems (e.g. LaserPro, LOS systems, spreading software, etc.).
  • Strong commercial credit skills/knowledge.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations codes and standards related to the area of responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis including analysis of borrower financial statements, CRE investor real estate, C&I lending concepts (and construction lending knowledge preferred).
  • Possess high level commercial credit skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to generate a high volume of new loan originations and deposits, while managing a significantly sized loan portfolio.
  • High level consultative selling skills, negotiation and presentation skills, with a history of successful outside sales experience.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with area Vice Presidents, Directors, Branch Managers, and employees.
  • Ability to make recommendations on loan pricing, terms, risk grades, evaluate the liquidation value of collateral, specify sources of repayment, assess industry business and management risks, etc.
  • Prepare written requests for approval of member business loans that cover all regulatory and credit union requirements.
  • Ability to understand complex business loan requests, evaluate overall financial capacity of borrowers/guarantors, and identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work successfully in a collaborative manner with other staff members.

Benefits & Other Compensation:


This position is eligible for coverage under the credit union’s group welfare benefits program the first of the month following your date of employment. The benefits program includes coverage paid in full by the credit union, benefits which employees share in the cost, and voluntary coverage. Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Coverage covered at 100% by the credit union includes Basic Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance, Long-Term Disability, and Travel Accident Coverage.

Employees share in the cost of Medical Insurance, which also includes Dental and Vision coverage. Employees also have the option to elect voluntary coverage for Life/AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and AFLAC at 100% of the cost.  The credit union offers the utilization of Flexible Spending (FSA), Dependent Care (DCA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) that are set up to reimburse you with pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare and/or dependent care costs. Eligibility to contribute towards one of these savings accounts is effective with the medical insurance enrollment, based on the type of medical coverage selected.  Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive

11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time.
