Job Description
We are looking for a Pharmacy Manager (Contract) to join our team at our flagship pharmacy in Mississauga, Ontario, to cover an 8-month maternity leave. The ideal candidate must have experience leading large teams to deliver innovative, industry-transforming experiences that improve patient care, engagement and retention. This candidate must have a proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment. As this individual will work closely with stakeholders across our organization, experience at a regional or national level is an asset. This position will be key to providing the best-in-class patient experience, as the Pharmacist principally responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Ontario location.
Responsibilities
Hire, and manage the performance of direct reports. Provide ongoing communication and contact with staff on goals, objectives, scheduling and pharmacy activities.
Ensure high-quality patient care and customer service through quality, accuracy and on-time processing of prescriptions and quarterly interdisciplinary Quality review meetings. Help to establish an environment focussed on delivering innovative, industry-transforming experiences that improve patient care, engagement and retention.
Manage operations and resources and ensure efficiencies as required to maintain customer satisfaction.
Lead the drafting and record-keeping of employee performance evaluations, standard operating procedures and training documentation for the pharmacy team. Support with the rollout of new processes, including building reference documentation as required.
Oversee the review and processing of physician orders; Supervise and assist the Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants with the preparation, filling, labelling and dispensing of medications to meet the prescription needs of patients
Provide consultations to patients as it relates to their prescriptions including basic pharmaceutical information about their medications, drug chemistry, proper usage, consumption patterns and management of potential side effects
Supervise and lead the preparation of physical inventory counts and ensure supply ordering processes are streamlined.
Work collaboratively with the product and development teams to drive the patient experience on our proprietary platform.
Ensure that the pharmacy operates in a manner that promotes patient health and safety and is compliant with federal and provincial regulations.
Adhere to the rules, regulations, policies and guidelines stipulated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Requirements
Full Pharmacist license from the Ontario College of Pharmacists
5+ years of pharmacy management experience
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to manage a team
Business acumen and basic understanding of the business and economics of pharmacy and the Canadian pharmaceutical industry
Remarkable attention to detail
Proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.
Inventory control experience
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Respect for Health & Safety procedures and protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for colleagues
Advance computer knowledge and skills and experience with Kroll
Fluent in English
