At Huckberry, everything starts with product. As a member of the buying team, you'll be an integral part of bringing the best brands and products to the Huckberry customer. You’ll work collaboratively with brands, private label, Marketing, Editorial, and Planning teams to curate a world-class assortment that delivers on our KPIs. We’re looking for a smart, well-rounded hustler with a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and collaborative spirit. The right candidate will pair a spirit for adventure and love of product with a growth mindset to help expand our growing team.

This role is based out of our headquarters in Austin, TX; relocation support will be provided to a remote hire.


Responsibilities


  • Establish strong vendor relationships to negotiate margins, return agreements, and guarantee first-to-market opportunities.
  • Manage PO communication via email with vendors — navigating sample coordination, changes, and delays.Execute a seasonal merchandise strategy based on customer needs, product performance, industry trends, and business analytics
  • Work collaboratively with our Creative to ensure product page buildout is complete ensuring timely product launches
  • Recap and analyze selling, category, and vendor performance
  • Manage PO deliveries with Brand Operations to ensure timely product launches
  • Work collaboratively with our Marketing Team to launch seasonal campaigns

Requirements


  • Keen eye for style, trends, cool gear, and brand discovery
  • Strong people and communication skills and a passion for retail, flexible, resilient, and positive
  • 2-3 years of experience, preferably in Men’s buying
  • Fundamental knowledge of retail math
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and hit tight deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Excel with the ability to quickly pick up new systems
  • Solid financial skills, be decisive, have a good sense of urgency, and thrive in an ever-changing environment
