We are looking for a software developer that is ready to jump into a fast moving environment and can learn and adapt existing systems to incorporate new electronic data warfare sources and transform and share that data to the war fighter to maintain aircraft survivability.
With application security & UX in mind from the beginning, you will work alongside collocated end users to collaboratively design & deliver web-based tools and products to support the US Air Force's electronic warfare mission to detect and identify new or changed threat radars that may impact the performance of aircraft Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. Reducing repetitive end user (radar & EW experts) tasks and automating processes is a critical skill as this role moves the mission towards cognitively-informed EW.Location: Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio TexasPosition Type: Full TimePosition Key Accountabilities: Works with radar / electronic warfare users and engineers to document requirements and build web based tools suited to their needs.Interviews clients/users and radar reprogramming personnel for problem definition to ensure that the program is written that fits the user’s needs or changes are made to resolve any existing problems.Develops program specifications for programming modules, programs specifications, testing, and documentation ensuring conformity and consistency with system and department standards.Writes, tests, and implements computer programs.
Adapt existing data flows to incorporate new sources and provide data displays to users.Assists with acceptance testing of purchase software and/or upgrades to existing system software to ensure user/clients needs are met.Resolves problems that arise with existing production systems to ensure the efficiency and proper functioning of programs and systems.Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
JavaScript development experience - 2 YearsDevSecOps Development experience - 2 YearsComfortably proficient in Red Hat Linux - 1 Year
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Proficiency with at least one of: Docker, Kubernetes, Podman, or Openshift.• Experience developing & deploying apps, using JavaScript, NodeJS, React or Angular.• Proficiency in Red Hat Linux & version control (GitHub/GitLab) required.• Ability to write basic scripts to automate processes (e.g. Bash).• Apache NiFi experience also a plus; will be required to learn it.• FADE/MIST and/or GALE experience is a plus, but not required.• Experience with cloud architecture (e.g., AWS) is a plus.CERTS/EDUCATION:• CompTIA Sec+
