About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on software architecture and system integration across a range of critical business platforms. In this role, you will be instrumental in connecting Empatica's cutting-edge healthcare technology with platforms like Odoo, Salesforce, Stripe, Shopify, Pardot, and Mailchimp. Your contributions will enhance data flow and system efficiency, directly supporting our mission of advancing human health through innovative technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Architecture and System Integration: Architect, develop, and implement seamless integration solutions for Empatica's healthcare platform, ensuring smooth connectivity with Odoo (our ERP platform) and other key business systems like Salesforce, Stripe, Shopify, Marketing Cloud (Pardot), Mailchimp, and Zendesk.
- Development and Implementation: Participate in the development and implementation of integration solutions, utilizing your strong programming skills to create efficient, maintainable, and reliable code. Leverage your expertise in Python, TypeScript, Go, or Kotlin to build robust APIs and services that enable seamless data synchronization and workflow automation. Your contributions will ensure that our systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance, supporting the broader integration goals of our technology ecosystem.
- System Configuration Management: Oversee the configuration management of integrated systems, ensuring all settings are optimized for peak performance and aligned with business goals. This includes establishing and maintaining configuration standards, documenting system configurations, and making adjustments as business needs evolve.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Work with the team to identify and resolve issues related to system architecture and configuration. Apply your problem-solving skills to help debug and optimize systems, ensuring they meet high standards of reliability and performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective system integrations that enhance overall efficiency.
- Custom Development and API Design: Contribute to the development and maintenance of custom integration scripts and the design of APIs that facilitate smooth interactions between systems. Ensure that all custom solutions follow best practices in software development and integration.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Collaborate with the QA team in testing and validating integration solutions. Work to ensure that all solutions are reliable and effective, especially in clinical settings where precision is crucial.
- Technical Support and Innovation: Provide ongoing technical support for existing integrations, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements. Stay informed about the latest trends in system integration and propose innovative solutions to continuously improve Empatica's technology ecosystem.

- Empatica operates in an international environment with offices in Europe, the US, and Korea. All work is conducted in English.
- This role is based in our Milan office, with flexible options for hybrid work.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in system integration, particularly with platforms like Odoo.
- Strong programming skills, ideally in languages such as Python, TypeScript, Go, or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with API development, data synchronization techniques, and integration middleware.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in resolving technical challenges in collaborative environments.
- Effective communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration across different departments.
