Coder is on a mission to build enterprise software that makes software developers’ lives easier and keeps them in flow. We are looking for a
Senior Partner Sales Engineer who will partner with Coder’s enterprise account managers, customer success, and product teams to build our ecosystem of technology, system integrator, and value-added reseller partners. You will be the first partner sales engineer on the team and you will work closely with the Head of Partners.

What you will be doing:



  • Partner Recruitment

  • Win the hearts and minds of key technical champions at prospective partners (product/engineering/architecture & professional services/delivery)

  • Work with partners and the Coder ecosystem engineering team to craft MVPs of integrated solutions & service offerings

  • Partner Enablement

  • Work alongside our CSM and support organizations to craft a technical onboarding program to ensure partners are able to…

  • Understand the technical challenges of our ICP and how Coder is uniquely positioned to solve them

  • Deliver compelling demonstrations of Coder's capabilities alongside partner technologies and offerings

  • Design, implement, and support world-class solutions for customers

  • Partner Sales

  • Act as the key technical resource for partner sales and delivery teams to enable us to win new joint customers and expand on current opportunities

  • Serve as the voice of the customer/partner organization and provide product feedback to engineering

  • Implementation and/or troubleshoot a partner’s Coder deployment as well as networking and Kubernetes components

What you bring:


You have at least 5+ years of experience as a Senior Partner Sales Engineer, with proven success in the following areas:

Prospect and Customer-related talent:



  • Strong customer facing skills including the ability to earn trust from technical contacts at our prospects while learning their current state challenges

  • Ability to translate technical challenges into business solutions on the fly and understand the politics of a prospect organization

  • Comfortable providing product demonstrations including architecture overviews to technical stakeholders

  • Have led detailed technical troubleshooting sessions until the issue is resolved

Technical:



  • Deep foundational and working knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Demonstrated experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience working inside at least one of the following: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure environments

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code tooling, specifically Terraform

  • Firm understanding of computer networking, specifically ingress controllers, proxies, and load balancers

Work Ethic:



  • Strong work ethic and can move fast in a startup environment

  • Player/coach mentality; someone who is coachable, and can coach members of the team

  • Willing to go outside the bounds of their job description and comfort zone

  • You are curious about technology and are constantly learning

  • You take initiative when something needs to be done, and you own the outcome

  • You are constantly looking for ways to add value to Coder

We will be really excited if you have the following:



  • Experience working at or partnering with a leading GSI or enterprise VAR

  • Experience at a CI/CD, DevOps, or Developer Tools software provider

  • A track record at both startup and mid-to-large software providers

  • You have worked in a developer platform team, platform engineering or you have worked closely with these teams

  • You have a Kubernetes certification

Interview Process 


We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. We hope to get through the interview process in two to three weeks if schedules allow. During this time, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and leadership. If this position requires a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time after completion.
